When are clips used vs. u-channels and what are the ramifications.

Clips or u-channels are incorporated into a frameless shower enclosure where the glass meets a wall, curb or ceiling. Decisions regarding the use of clips vs. u-channels or a combination of both are mostly aesthetics, preference and structural integrity.
